Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Rap Verdict ("we," "us," "Service") collects, uses, shares, and safeguards your information. The Service is restricted to users 16 and older.
1. Data We Collect
Account & Profile Data
Email address, display name, username, date of birth (stored as a timestamp used solely to enforce the 16+ age requirement), country (optional, profile-level), avatar image (optional, stored in Firebase Storage).
Note: your display name is stored internally but is not shown publicly on the Service. Only your username is displayed to other users.
Battle Submissions
URLs and metadata submitted by users for admin review. Submissions are stored until processed and may be retained for spam/abuse detection.
Community Data
- •Historical chat messages — messages posted before the live chat feature was decommissioned remain stored with the associated username, user ID, and timestamp. No new chat messages can be posted.
- •Forum threads and replies — title, body, category, linked entity (battle, rapper, or league), author username, user ID, and timestamps.
- •Upvote records — which forum threads or posts you have upvoted, stored by user ID.
Battle Rap TV
Battle Rap TV (/tv) is a live, synchronized broadcast of battles. When you use it we process:
- •Viewer presence — an anonymous, random connection identifier (not linked to your account or IP address) so we can show how many people are watching a room. It disappears when you leave or close the page.
- •Scoring taps and reactions (signed-in users) — which scoring button or emoji you pressed and when, stored with your user ID while the broadcast airs so cooldowns can be enforced. This working data is deleted when the broadcast ends.
- •Aggregated broadcast results — crowd score totals, reaction counts and a timeline of how intense each part of a battle was. These contain no personal identifiers and are kept indefinitely. A compact event log of each broadcast is also kept for abuse and fraud analysis; it identifies viewers only by a short one-way hash of their user ID, never by name, email or username.
- •Post-battle votes — if you score the rounds on the TV screen, the vote is saved exactly like a vote cast on the battle page (linked to your account and treated the same way).
- •On-device preferences — your sound on/off choice is stored in your browser's localStorage and is never sent to us.
Battles on TV are played through the YouTube embedded player, so YouTube/Google may collect data about your viewing under their own privacy policy.
Technical & Security Data
Hashed IP counters for signup rate limiting (auto-purged within ~48 hours), authentication events, error logs, and Firebase App Check tokens. Local browser storage (localStorage) is used to track session streaks and visit history for non-authenticated users; this data is not transmitted to our servers.
We do not collect sensitive categories of data (health, biometrics, financial account numbers, etc.).

4. Community Verdicts & Analytics
We compile Community Verdicts (comment sentiment analysis and scorecards) by processing public YouTube transcripts, video metadata, and comments. No user account data is passed to our processing models or third-party APIs. The compiled results are stored on our servers and displayed publicly on the battle pages.
5. Data Retention
| Data Type | Retention | |---|---| | Account profile | Until deletion request | | Hashed IP rate-limit docs | Auto-purged within ~48 hours | | Chat messages | Retained for integrity; deleted on account deletion request | | Forum threads & replies | Retained while active; deleted on account deletion request | | Upvote records | Retained with thread/post; deleted on account deletion | | Battle submissions | Retained until processed; archived for anti-abuse purposes | | TV viewer presence | Removed as soon as you leave the page | | TV scoring taps & reactions (account-linked working data) | Deleted when the broadcast ends | | TV live results and pseudonymous event log | Results kept as aggregate statistics; the hashed-ID event log is retained for abuse analysis | | TV post-battle votes | Same as other battle votes | | Aggregated statistics | Persisted without personal identifiers after account deletion |
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Limited sharing occurs with:
- •Firebase / Google Cloud — cloud infrastructure, Authentication, and the Realtime Database that powers Battle Rap TV
- •YouTube — the embedded video player used to show battles on the site and on Battle Rap TV
- •Data Processing & AI APIs — anonymized public battle transcripts and comments (not your account data) to run sentiment analysis and compile verdicts
- •Legal Authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect rights/safety
7. International Transfers
Data may be stored and processed in data centers outside your country (primarily the United States). We rely on standard cloud-provider protections and access controls as transfer safeguards.
8. Security
We implement App Check enforcement, least-privilege Firestore security rules, rate limiting, hashed (not raw) IP logging, and access monitoring. No system is perfectly secure — please report any vulnerabilities to support@rapverdict.com.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- •Access & Export — Settings → Export Data
- •Deletion — Delete your account directly via Settings → Account, or email support@rapverdict.com to request account deletion. We will remove your profile, username reservation, auth credentials, forum threads, and forum replies. Aggregate counts without personal linkage may persist.

- •Portability — your exported data is provided in a portable JSON format
We may retain limited logs for security and legal compliance after deletion.
10. Age Restriction
This Service is only for users 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a user under 16 has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.
11. Changes to This Policy
We will post updates here and may notify you in-app or by email for material changes. Continued use after the updated effective date constitutes acceptance.
